The Many Types of Construction Contractor

Yo! Welcome to this new blog. Last year, I decided to fix up my home. I had lived in this place for the past 20 years and since I moved in, I haven't really done a thing to it. I decided to do something about it when I arrived home one day and saw how terrible my house looked compared to my neighbour's places. I called in a range of different contractors to replace the roof, repair the walls and paint the interior. I was really pleased with the results and I picked up a lot useful tips which I would like to share with you.

Critical Considerations for Choosing Between a Reverse Cycle Split AC and a Ducted AC

When it comes to air conditioning units, nothing beats what a reverse cycle AC system offers. Notably, the refrigeration cycle can be reversed to heat or cool a room depending on prevailing weather conditions. The capability makes reverse cycle ACs the go-to solution for regions that enjoy mild winter. That said, you should understand that reverse cycle ACs can either be split or ducted. The system you choose depends on a few considerations.

The Number of Heating/Cooling Zones

What is the size of your home? Do you need to heat or cool different rooms at the same time, or do you live in a single apartment? Your answers to the above questions determine whether you need a ducted AC or a split system. The ideal choice for a single residence is a reverse cycle split system because the unit draws air from outside through a single channel that delivers it to your space. However, if you stay in a house with multiple rooms and you need to heat or cool them individually, then a reverse cycle ducted system is the best option. The latter option allows you to control the temperature of the different zones from a centralised point.

Ceiling Space

The size of your ceiling space is another factor that determines which reverse cycle AC to install. For example, ducted systems work well in homes that have enough ceiling space to accommodate the ducts. Besides, ducts can run along the walls, but there is no need if your walls have adequate insulation. However, if you live in a house with limited ceiling space or walls that cannot accommodate ductwork, you are better off with a reverse cycle split AC since it requires minimal ductwork.

Members of the Family

Do you live with any family member that is sensitive to extreme temperatures? This is an essential consideration because your choice of a reverse cycle AC system affects the health of your loved ones. For example, cold air blowing from an air conditioning system might affect the breathing patterns of the elderly or children. It means that you have to install several reverse cycle split AC units to meet each occupant's temperature needs. However, the option is expensive to implement, especially in a house with many rooms. The most logical choice is a reverse cycle ducted AC system. The solution allows every family member to choose their ideal temperature requirements.
